Georgetown University Fall Engagement Session
When choosing an engagement session location it’s always a great idea to consider locations that have meaning to you as a couple! Perhaps a place where you first met, a frequent date location, the location where you first said “I love you”, or the surprise proposal location! For this engagement session I shot at Georgetown University where this couple first met. Earlier in the year I had captured the surprise proposal at the Georgetown Waterfront and I am excited to be capturing wedding day coming soon in New Jersey! Once wedding day comes it will be my third time photographing Bryan & Carla! It’s always an honor to work with a couple through the proposal to the engagement session and all the way to wedding day! By working with the same photographer you can build that relationship and trust to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. You also get the same constant photography style for all your images.

Washington DC Constitution Gardens Winter Surprise Proposal
Constitution Gardens in Washington DC is located between The Washington Monument and The Lincoln Memorial on part of The Mall. It’s a small piece of land surrounded by a pond that is accessible by a small wooden bridge. It makes a great proposal location for a perfect unobtrusive view of The Washington Monument in the background. The location is very private and normally has few tourist in the area as many of the tourist spend time at the nearby memorials. This makes for the perfect location that includes the view of the monuments without the large crowds of tourist. This spot also commonly has ducks and lots of greenery surrounding.
After the proposal moment some friends rushed over to congratulate the newly engaged couple! Capturing the reactions of the friends was also a great moment! Including friends or family after your surprise proposal is a great way to have a second surprise and get photos with those friends and family members as well as more great reaction shots!
Surprise Proposal Photography includes detailed planning & advice, photography session to capture the proposal moment, portraits afterwards, and your online gallery of your beautifully processed high resolution images. The online gallery is easy to share with friends and family! Jon Fleming Photography specializes in capturing couples love stories from the surprise proposal to the wedding day!

Wilkes Street Tunnel Engagement Session in Old Town Alexandria
I captured this engagement session in Old Town Alexandria and one of my favorites spots there: Wilkes Street Tunnel. Wilkes Street Tunnel is a pedestrian only tunnel that is popular for running and biking through but also makes for amazing photos! I love to shoot in front of the tunnel and then go inside for some silhouette shots! After the tunnel you can walk to Old Town nearby for more amazing locations!
In the middle of our session we got photobombed by the police!

National Gallery of Art Engagement Session | Washington DC Engagement Session
I have always wanted to capture an engagement session at The National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. The Gallery is one of the few museums in DC where you can get away with indoor engagement sessions without a permit. The Gallery of Art is location next to The National Mall along Constitution Avenue between 3rd and 9th street. It consist of 2 separate buildings that connect underground. The museum is open year around to the public free of charge. I met with Will & Anna in the late afternoon/early evening and we started their session inside! It was a pleasure to get to know them as I got them comfortable in front of my camera. I am so excited for their 2016 wedding!
After an outfit change into a more causal outfit we walked through The National Sculpture Garden before they closed at 7pm. The gardens are located just off the National Mall between the National Gallery of Art's west building and The National Museum of Natural History.
