Notable Features
Lower Level
The thirteen basin cascading fountain is one of the longest in North America.
Below the cascading fountain is a reflecting pool.
The Noyes Armillary Sphere was a prominent feature in the lower plaza of the park. It was damaged in the 1960s and later disappeared. The National Park Service is working to have it replaced.
Upper Level
The Joan of Arc Statue is the only equestrian statue of a woman in Washington, D.C.

Meridian Hill Park is open until 9PM in the winter and midnight in the summer.

Washington DC Georgetown Waterfront Park Surprise Marriage Proposal
The Georgetown Waterfront is a popular location for surprise proposals and engagement sessions in Washington DC! The area is surrounded by restaurants and shops with the waterfront park area, canal, and cool pathways. The waterfront has a view of The Potomac and Kennedy Center! During the early morning is was not very busy making it a great spot for a private proposal in a public park. Walking around the area we captured some beautiful portraits!

I love photographing at night when I can get super creative with lighting! I have photographed engagement sessions, surprise proposals, and weddings many times in Georgetown & Georgetown Waterfront but photographing at night is completely different! After this surprise proposals I captured some portraits around Georgetown with Rosslyn in the background and other sites.
Georgetown Waterfront Park Surprise Proposal
Georgetown & Georgetown Waterfront Park is one of my favorite Washington DC locations for engagement sessions & surprise proposals! I captured Spencer's surprise proposal to his girlfriend Amanda over the winter along the pathway directly next to the water. The surprise reaction was picture perfect! Holiday lights and decorations around Georgetown made for some great portrats after the proposal. I am so excited to share these images.
